A Renewed Calling

Some of you who are friends with my husband on Facebook might have seen his recent blog posts.  The inspiration to write has come from a renewed sense of calling he has felt towards ministry.  Years ago, before we met, he started at San Jose Christian College with a Pastoral major.  He completed that degree and went on to Fuller and received his Masters of Theology  During that span of several years, he was perhaps a little dis-enchanted with the idea of being a Pastor and started to move more towards teaching.  He thought, "maybe God wants me to teach instead".  But the fact remained that the original calling he felt before starting his undergrad, was to be a Pastor. He has recently begun re-visiting that idea and talking with our Pastor here in Seattle and some other close friends and mentors.  Personally, I am excited and get chills when I think about where God is leading us.  I admit, for a time I could NEVER see myself as a "Pastor's Wife"...not sure if I do now, but I am open and ready for God to take us where He is leading.

As we start down this path, it is becoming clear it could be a long journey.  He would need to complete some work through Calvin Seminary in relation to the denomination we are in and then return to Fuller to receive an MDIV (Masters of Divinity).  His previous school work will go towards the MDIV, but not as much as we were hoping.  We are pretty set against the idea of taking out more loans as that would be rediculously irrisponsible.  So, we are asking for your prayers that if this is in fact where God is leading us...that He would provide and make it very clear the path we must take.  Our hope is to remain in Seattle and  be involved with a church plant...or whatever!  This is a really exciting time for our family and it's very exicting for me to see how happy Norm is and the peace we both feel in this.  God has gifted him and he is feeling like he should be using those gifts for His glory.  Keep us in mind and we will keep you posted!
Thank you,
Jasmine
